Sadie Maldonado
Sadie Maldonado is currently a junior attending Harlingen High School South. She first discovered her passion for lighting, lighting design, and theatre at the Harlingen Performing Arts Center, where she is part of the Technical Theatre Track in the Award Winning, Harlingen Performing Arts Conservatory. Her credits include Moana Jr. (Lighting), 9 to 5 (Lighting), Once on This Island (Lighting), and Over the River and Through the Woods (Stage Manager). She began the Technical Track during her 2024-2025 school year and plans to continue until she graduates.
Sadie has been a member of the State Championship-winning Harlingen High School South One Act Play team for the past three years. Her lighting design has significantly contributed to the team’s success at UIL State Contests. Notably, she served as backstage Lighting Designer for Indecent, which won 1st place at State in 2023, and as Stage Manager and Lighting Designer for Machinal, which earned 2nd place at State last year. Currently, she is the Lighting Designer and Programmer for 33 Variations. Sadie is passionate about refining her lighting design skills and is eager to continue growing in such a dynamic and inspiring environment.
